Store Warehouse Manager - Plymouth Office

Date: 12 July 2010

Salary:

£9.50 per hour

Hours: Monday-Friday 7.30am - 4.30pm, extra hours may be required as necessary to cope with the demands of this role

Job Description:

Shield Environmental Services are currently looking for a Store Warehouse Manager for our busy Plymouth branch

The primary role consists of ensuring that all material and equipment is managed in an organised fashion, maintain in-house databases and staff training records, controlling warehouse stock and equipment

The candidate must be/have:

Self motivated and enthusiastic with a flexible attitude towards working hours

A full clean driving license is essential, preferably with the ability to tow

Basic Knowledge in general repairs and tool maintenance
Have an understanding of basic warehousing principals
Positive hardworking attitude
Possess great initiative, clear communication and follow up skills

Be prepared to undergo relevant training to suit this role
Ability to prioritise tasks and manage own time to meet deadlines

Smart appearance

Key responsibilities:

Working closely with the Management team and site staff, this role requires excellent communication skills and a good knowledge of Microsoft programs such as word and excel.

Marine Project Supervisor - Falmouth

Job Description:

Temporary position, possibly leading to a permanent position

Accountable to: Marine Manager

Reportable to: Marine Operations Manager

To ensure work is carried out in accordance with company procedures, including issuing/updating an accurate detail programe for works on a weekly basis, co-ordination and management of site activities for all site staff including sub contractors and suppliers, ensuring a timely response to programe requirements.

Participate and assist in the preparation of on site co-ordination meetings and client meetings as required.

Ensure all company records and documents and filed and managed correctly.

The candidate must be/have:

A solid supervisory experience with good all round interpersonal skills, strong leadership and management skills, as this role is client facing and involves working at all levels within the organisation.

A full understanding of the financial aspects of the contract management process and quality systems such as ISO9000 is essential.

Flexible attitude towards hours of work to cope with the demands of this role

The ability to prioritise own workload, work well on own initiative and also as part of a team

Punctual, reliable and of smart appearance

Key responsibilities:

To ensure all employees are inducted and sufficiently trained and experienced

Implement Health & Safety on site, complying with relevant Health & Safety legislation

Assist the Marine Manager with project safety plans for projects, hazard identifications and risk assessments, weekly safety inspections and tool box talks.

Asbestos Surveyor - Bristol Based

Job Description:

As part of the strategic growth of the company, we are now actively seeking candidates to fulfil the role of  Asbestos Surveyor covering the Dorset area, as one of the UKs leading asbestos management service providers, we are seeking to employ a self motivated individual to work within an expanding surveying division.

Job Title - Asbestos Surveyor

Reporting to - Deputy Technical Manager

Key Role - Supporting the Surveying Division

The candidate must be/have:

Familiar with working within a UKAS Accredited surveying environment

Self Motivated

Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team

Able to prioritise whilst working under pressure

Have a good level of computer literacy

Flexible with hours of work to cope with the demands of this role

Punctual, willing and enthusiastic

Be of smart appearance

Key responsibilities:

Undertaking surveying tasks (re-inspections, management and refurbishment/demolition surveys) in accordance with HSG 264 and Company procedures.

Must have held a BOHS or (BIOH) P402 certificate for a minimum of one year (BOHS S301, P405 would be an advantage)

Submitting comprehensive accurate reports, specifications and quotations.

Asbestos Operatives/Supervisors-Bristol

Date: 4 June 2010

Salary:

Competitive rates of pay

Job Description:

To remove, repair or encapsulate asbestos from a wide range of buildings/establishments and locations, in a controlled manner.

The candidate must be/have:

Candidates must have relevant site and asbestos removal experience, minimum two years, qualified with in-date training certificates as well as a current medical and in-date face fit certificates, CSCS and ARCA or ACAD.

Working hours 7.30am-4.40pm, Monday to Friday, which may also include some weekend work. A flexible approach to working hours is essential to cope with the demands of this role.

Clean driving license essential

 

Key responsibilities:

Remove, repair or encapsulate asbestos from a wide range of buildings/establishments types and locations, in a controlled manner. 

Follow all safety regulations and instructions regarding work practices (such as, work site preparation, decontamination, and waste disposal).

 

Collect and deliver materials and plant from Stores and Suppliers to site and dispose of waste materials to tip.

 

Provide general support to Supervisors to ensure the safe removal of asbestos materials.

 

With assistance, order and control materials and plant acquired from Stores and External Merchants.

 

Maintain written records of work undertaken as required.

Safely use, as required, hand tools, powered hand tools, small plant and machinery

 

Where appropriate, driving company vehicles and license permitting, towing decontamination units. Undertaking regular vehicle checks, reporting defects, cleaning and routine maintenance.

 

Follow Company/Client procedures and rules and be able to communicate effectively with other Operatives, Supervisors/office staff.

 

After appropriate training, work in confined spaces, work at heights, work in and around occupied properties.

Asbestos Surveying Auditor-Bristol

P402 qualified

Experienced asbestos surveyor

Auditing experience for a UKAS accredited company preferable, but not essential as training will be provided

Key responsibilities:

To maintain the audit programmes for witness assessment and re-inspection audits to a high standard, to include accurate and timely completion of audit paperwork.
