Shield Demolition begin works on the fire torn Former Paper Converting Factory in Plymouth

The US owned Paper Converting Machine Company which owns multiple sites worldwide closed its Plymouth factory in 2002 forcing the loss of a number of local jobs. The derelict site became a target for arsonists on multiple occasions rendering the site hazardous and unsafe.
Shield Demolition began the 12/14 week demolition phase of the project in July 2015 instructed by Dawson Southway LTD. Shield’s scope includes; dismantling the structures, recycling the waste and preparing the ground for the sites next phase of works which is yet to be announced.
