Shield has formulated many successful “partnering agreements” and places high emphasis on maintaining an open structured approach with clients. It’s a process which delivers by helping to provide upfront costs, utilising a specific schedule of rates for either the residential or public sector, whilst improving on project communication and efficiency.

We are highly committed to ensuring projects are delivered on time by understanding the client’s expectations and requirements from start to finish. The frameworks we currently have in place range from Insurance Providers, Ship Repair, Housing Associations and Facilities Management Companies. Experience gained from partnering arrangements has enabled Shield to formulate long term relationships with many clients; we achieve this by ensuring that we have a dedicated team to manage your account including account director and account coordinators.

Partnership Experience

Babcock & Debut Services

Following a three stage pre qualification and best value tender selection process, SES were identified as Babcock/ Debut preferred asbestos contractor, providing specialist UKAS accredited asbestos surveying and licensed asbestos removal services to 80+ MOD sites located throughout the UK.

The main purpose of this framework agreement was to serve the process of asbestos management across the MOD Prime contracting regions.

Since the adoption of the framework agreement in April 2008 SES has successfully planned and completed multiple asbestos surveying and removal projects to agreed timescales.

The performance of SES is measured through a number of site feedback questionnaires, compliance to KPI’s and quality audits monitoring key areas such as , technical performance, schedule delivery, health and safety, environmental and sustainability, service and cost.

In November 2009 SES was presented with the prestigious highly commended certificates at the Babcock Infrastructure excellent awards for Best in Supply Chain and Service Delivery.

A&P Group

A&P group specialises in ship repair within various locations throughout the UK, with impressive list of clients which include Government, Ferry and traditional commercial shipping.

SES has worked with A&P Group over many years and during 2005 formed a Long Term agreement to be their sole supplier in asbestos removal and insulation associated work.

The framework was initially rolled out for 5 years with the opportunity to extend further, SES are delighted that we were asked to continue with the LTA for the foreseeable future.

SES is measured against set KPI’s which include responsiveness to quotes, safety, quality, service and cost.

Working within this sector poses very many challenges due to the need to the vessel having limited times within the dry dock and the need to work with following on trades. SES has proved over the years that we have the capability to adapt to changing environments whilst ensuring the work is completed on time.

RBS Insurance

During 2006 SES were invited to tender be incorporated on RBS Home network framework agreement with 4 other asbestos companies located throughout the UK.

We were requested to provide cost’s to carry out sampling and removal based on a schedule provided for asbestos related work within domestic properties.

Through significant liaison between SES and RBS procurement team a schedule of rates were developed and progressively ‘sense checked’ to provide a nationally competitive menu based pricing list. Supporting management processes and documented procedures were also introduced to assist in the roll out of the framework.

SES was awarded the South West & South East regions and has subsequently been asked to take over other regions.

Serco Ltd Marine Services

Shield Environmental Services have signed a three year framework agreement with Serco Ltd Marine to supply asbestos removal, consultancy services and insulation maintenance to their fleet of vessels.

The framework will consist of supporting Serco with general maintenance requirements as well as major refit works. As part of the diligent qualifying procedure SES were required to show value for money along with exemplary service capabilities in line with Serco’s requirements.

During the tender process SES was able to demonstrate that we had a thorough understanding of Serco’s operational requirements together with the ability to provide our services in an effective and efficient manner.
