Thermal surveys are used to detect high temperatures and generally poor insulation qualities on ship.
Under the safety of life at sea regulations ( SOLAS) the temperature of any item ( usually exhaust ) should not exceed the combustion temperature of flammable fluids (oil fuels.)
Thermal surveys are also useful for identifying problems in electrical, heating and refrigeration systems. This service is extremely useful in the identification of damaged or missing areas of insulation which may cause high temperatures and will result in a high risk of fire, together with the obvious health and safety risks from burns and scalds.
We can create custom insulation to repair any damaged or missing insulation throughout the ship.
The SOLAS survey:
- Is vital in the prevention of engine room fire
- Identifies areas of missing or damage insulation
- Helps prevent injury to staff and engineers
