Merlin Residents Fun Day is a Great Success
September 13, 2010 at 4:35 PM
Shield Environmental Services were delight to attended the first Merlin Housing Society fun day on 26th August 2010 as a proud supporter of the decent homes programme for which we are the approved asbestos contractor.
Organised by the Asset Management Team the event was an opportunity for residents to find out more about the homes improvement programme through meeting with a variety of contractors who are involved in the programme and raise issues and queries they may have about their homes with Merlin staff.
The day was filled with plenty of family activities such as balloon modeling, bingo, face painting and even the opportunity to meeting the local fire brigade. The skies may have been grey, but not even the occasional rain shower could dampen the mood of the families who attended the event.
Head of Merlin Property Services Mark Haines said he was delighted the day was such a success. “Following feedback we received from everyone who came along I have no doubt that a similar event will take place again sometime in the future,” he said.

Shield’s Training Manager Kevin Staniforth, who attended the event with Marketing Coordinator Karen Spencer said, “The fun day was a great opportunity to meet face to face with the Merlin Residents in and informal setting. This enabled contractors like ourselves to gain feedback and share important information directly with the residents who are having asbestos works carried out within their homes. We will definitely attend such events in future as they are so important in spreading awareness about asbestos within the community”
